nyc // more videos!

I don’t think I could ever act natural in a music video. These guys, though…

1. The video for DIIV‘s “How Long Have You Known” was unleashed upon the internet masses earlier today…

2. Exit Music‘s “The Night” premiered on Pitchfork the other day. I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song, almost two years ago, so that’s cool…

Last night, 11:30, I was standing in the grocery store checkout line, lettuce and kitty litter in hand, when I got a text message from my good friend Laura… “Wait YCBAW is breaking up??”. Well, I dropped the litter.

Care of some sleuthing (thanks Allston Pudding!), it seems that our not-related-to-Harry-Potter darlings are on the verge of a hiatus, a line-up change, and who knows what else. I’m not entirely sure what all this means for the future of the band, but I’d veer on the side of Getting-Your-Arse-To-Great-Scott…

I would like you to enjoy some videos by Boston favorites that have popped up in the past week or so. I don’t know which one I like more, and I like that I don’t have to choose.

First, embrace Pretty & Nice in a very colorful attic, playing a song you might be familiar with…

Next, Earthquake Party! in a white room, with a song you should definitely get to know…

And please, allow me to leave you with some advice… if you are not driving cross country or working the night shift, do not drink a large red eye at 10 PM. In the words of Ted Mosby’s mother, “Nothing good happens after 2 am” (I don’t think she meant tofu binges but that’s what’s happening here in NYC).

Record Store Day was a beautiful day, the sun was out and the weather was cardigan-optional. So, of course, I made my friends go into a basement to watch the Hairs.

Guess what? Tonight’s CLOUDY.
