boston // and another thing!

I’m not done with Sunday yet!!! (see post below)

If I were to have driven up to Boston, here’s what would have happened… I would have gone to the early show first, seen my favorites and had my mind blown. Feeling invincible, I’d have then skipped on over to Great Scott for the Dreamhouse Collective show from heaven. I’m thinking you should maybe do the same as my alternate self.

It goes like this:
Young Adults
CreaturoS
Grand Resort
Chandeliers

I loved Doomstar! so very much, it’s awesome that two of the dudes are making waves again in CreaturoS (also featuring a member of Ketman). I’m seriously hooked.

And, well, I could never stop loving Young Adults.

Great Scott! 9 PM! $7

It’s taking an epic dose of common sense for me not to get into my car and drive the four hours to Boston tonight (only to return a few hours later).

Why?

I ranted about Teenage Cool Kids the other day, so my temptation may not surprise you. Add in some of my Boston very favorites, Girlfriends, The Big Big Bucks, and Four Eyes, and it’s taking every bit of willpower to stay sat on my bed, hanging out with a cat.

If you want to go, ask for the address. Don’t be lame. Give my friends a hug.

I actually clearly remember the first time I heard about Teenage Cool Kids. I was sitting at Charlie’s Kitchen, downstairs, in a booth but facing the window, with my friend. He was telling me about his friend’s band that was accidentally ruffling the feathers of the hip-hop group The Cool Kids. I just thought it was a funny story, but then followed up on the name and…

Love.

Three albums. “Denton After Texas” just recently released. A reunion of sorts. Tonight!! TOONIGHT! At Cake Shop! You might think I live there?

I have barely any time to tell you what you need to know, but you gotta go to Cake Shop tonight.

For one thing, I am utterly obsessed with the Swearin’ download I snagged the other week. I really hope you like it. Seeing them play at Gutter in January was one of the best “aha!” moments I’ve had in a while.

.

For another, Useless Eaters are coming to town from Tennessee (a place I feel like I’ve been talking about a lot lately), and if our tastes have ever coincided, well…

For some reason the Soundcloud track won’t load. Go nuts here

Finally, Ex-Humans are from NY and you love them.

9 PM $8 DAEDPIZZA is responsible for alll the fun you will have at this show

So I’ve listened to this song five times in a row…

This is Woollen Kits, who can usually be found in Melbourne, Australia. But tonight? Tonight, we got em.

This is all making me very happy.
