nyc // ramming speed

Wow, you’d think life would maybe take a few days break after Thanksgiving, wouldn’t you? I have barely had time to digest.

But no, there was the aforementioned Andy & Zeus / Thick Shakes show at Cake Shop, where an Australian man said “Hey, those guys are REALLY good” after Thick Shakes.

Then, there was the Nick Poot Memorial show at Tommy’s Tavern. And Monday, the show I didn’t know was happening until I walked into work. Ex Humans, King Louie’s Missing Monuments (fr. Louisiana), Night Birds, and Pretty Quick.

Yesterday we saw Janeane Garafalo do a set, which is something I won’t soon forget.

And now, today. For one thing, the Twitspace has been blowing up about the closing of Altered Zones, which you can read more about here. Over it? Look what the cat dragged all the way from Boston..

Ramming Speed at St Vitus with Saviours, Elks and Bad Dream. 8 PM $12

Not your bag? More a fan of Warpaint? The UK’s 2:54 has been getting some dece buzz lately, and they’re at Pianos tonight with Caged Animals! 8 PM!

Sorry, my mind’s been preoccupied. But it seems like we get more hits on the days I don’t do anything, so that’s… a thing.

What’s going on today? Well, this (which can be seen here).

What else? It’s the last night of MiniBoone‘s residency at Pianos, care of Sippy Cup Everything!

This is made even cooler by the fact that Boston’s Pretty and Nice are coming to town!

Thee Oh Sees are here! I’d strongly consider going to 285 Kent to celebrate the release of their newest album, Carrion Crawler/The Dream!

TOTAL CONTROL (mems of UV Race / Eddy Current Suppression Ring)
DOOMSDAY STUDENT (mems of Arab on Radar)
