nyc // help save silent barn

July 20, 2011 § 1 Comment

Over the weekend, the DIY space Silent Barn was robbed and ransacked. Seven years and $15K of accumulated audio equipment and belongings, artwork and house projects, lost.

Silent Barn is representative of that special something I’ve grown to love about the NY scene – not only is there the commitment to DIY, but also a commitment to ensuring it’s a culture everyone can enjoy. This has come with its fair share of legal hurdles but, at the end of the day, these places try their damnedest to come out on top.

This is a huge setback, so the denizens of Silent Barn have set up a Kickstarter. THIS, finally, is the kind of thing that Kickstarter exists for. Head over there to read more and see what you can do to help. Broke as a joke? Volunteer!

Over $10,000 has been raised in a matter of hours, keep it up.

Never been? Look, I found a tour…
