boston // this has been a disaster

Thanks for having us.

What a rad idea. Steve Almond (author, Rock and Roll Will Save Your Life) and Ryan Walsh (singer/guitarist in Hallelujah the Hills) have joined forces to produce a monthly podcast in which they talk shop with three musicians. This isn’t the usual “this is how you book a show” and “how much should I get paid” kinda shop, but rather the bad bits, the funny parts, the awkward situations.

Check out the two previous podcasts here!

If this sparks your interest, they’re doing it live (it’d be wrong any other way!) at Toad tonight, with:

Chris Brokaw (Come, Codeine)
Ben Potrykus (Girlfriends)
Amy Correia

boston // dig the colors

Hey you, got a second? Check out this new interactive art blog outta Boston – Dig the Colors. I think it’s awesome and only wish I could draw!

Maybe you’ll want to get involved? Maybe I’ll attempt to submit something? Take a look!

I miss art class.  I miss weekly homework assignments.  I miss challenging my brain to solve problems posed by others in creative and personal ways. My hopes for this blog is to create a virtual art class. Participants will help to create weekly assignments, anyone can respond to each assignment as many times as they wish, using any media they desire, so long as the finished project can be digitally documented and e-mailed to digthecolorseveryday … Read More

Shows like this one are not helping my newest bout of Boston-sickness.

Mentira Mentira

$5. 5 PM.

Amoroso was one of the first local bands I ever saw in Allston. PBR is bringing presents of beer. Starlab is an excellent space. I am so jealous.

Where Am I?
