nyc // inadvertantly stalking jacuzzi boys

March 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

… whoops.

It’s not my fault. I heard back some suuuper posi things from the Boston show (who’s surprised?), and now they’re here for two separately awesome gigs. Don’t sleep on these dudes.

Tonight >>> Bruar Falls with Web Dating (we’ve gone over them before), Outer Minds, Regal Degal. $10

Tomorrow >>> Cake Shop with Moon Duo (mems of Wooden Shjips. This regular at work talks to me about these guys all the time. I trust his judgement cos he also likes Lower Dens), +one more band WHO will it be? 8 PM $10

Since I already posted a Jacuzzi Boys video, I’m gonna end with some Moon Duo.

Whoa, hey! I’m here, I’m here.

I don’t know what it’s like up in Boston but I just got sleeted on pretty impressively. This is not stopping me from going to a show – it better not stop you, either. Especially the show that’s happening at Church tonight.

Look what the cat dragged in, all the way from Florida…

This is going to be disgustingly uninformative cos I’m writing it at work. But,. really, both these things will be too good, I don’t have to say anything more.

Phoenix says: What was once Petal and Leaf is now a brand-new art gallery called the Aviary and helmed by 25-year-old proprietress Lindsay Metivier. And for its ambitious first-ever show, “Sound on Sight,” she’s assembled a group of photographs from local musicos representing 21 bands, among them Drug Rug, Mission of Burma, Neptune, Damon and Naomi, Hallelujah the Hills, Viva Viva, Come, Animal Hospital, Cold Water Flat, and the J. Geils Band. Reception March 3: 7-10
