You just can’t.
After you spend your Memorial Day in the sun and drink all your Sunday-bought booze (MA, yer funny), I know what you should do next.
Viva Viva, Doomstar!, Skimask at Charlie’s Kitchen (Cambridge). 9 PM, $5, 21+.

Just spent the first half of my Friday night updating the gig listings page. REIGNING SOUND AT TT’s? Uhhh yeah!
Anyways, there’s a new flyer for the free House of Blues Front Room shows. Get into it.

I’ve been meaning to talk about this for the entire month of May. Whoops.
Movers and Shakers hath taken over the Plough and Stars (Mass Ave, Cambridge)! I must shamefully admit that I have
yet to go to a M&S show – a huge blogger faux pas as it’s pretty universally agreed that these guys rule. Tonight’s the last night of their May residency; I will be there, you should be too.
10 PM, FREE, Awesome.
(Excuse the brevity. Anyone who is Facebook friends with me knows that my mom has 12 baby chickens in the kitchen.)

Pants Yell! has been one of Boston’s premier indie pop bands for seven years now. Unfortunately, the boys are calling it a day…
“To me, pants yell represents something very special and precious and I want to keep that magic intact. I’m no longer the 23 year old singing ‘Evan’s Way’. I want to branch out stylistically in my songwriting and I feel that it wouldn’t be fair to carry on with the name pants yell. I’ve grown up obsessed with the pop mystique – the Felts, the June Brides, the Ropers and the Adens – the bands that did what they had to do, made some incredibly intelligent music and left it at that. There’s a lot to be said in knowing when to leave the party at the right time and that’s what we’re doing” – singer Andrew Churchman.
Tonight’s it. 10 PM at ZuZu in Cambridge. $5. You better get there mad early.
