nothing extraneous about it

If you’re lucky, you’re already familiar with Spirit Kid.

A band of musicians swirling around Emeen Zarookian’s musical whimsy, Spirit Kid is the catchiest music you’ve heard in a long time. Everyone knows I have a weakness for all things Kinks and ‘oooh’y and such – this is it. Listening to this band makes me think it’s actually sunny outside. Bravo!

Do not sleep on this. Emeen Z’s little juggernaut got a sweet write-up in Northeast Performer not so long ago – click on through for an better introduction to the man than I can muster.

Plus, hey, sweet… if you’re reading this on Wednesday, tonight you can see ’em for yourself!

Extraneous Noise is hosting tonight’s Middle East Upstairs event, with Golden Spurs, Some Say Fire, & The Novel Ideas.

An all-Massachusetts-ian line-up, presented by those guys who make sick videos of all your favorite bands? Nice.
Doors 8, 18+, $9
