I’ve told you about Thick Shakes before, I know I have.
Since then, I’m hoping you’ve downloaded (for free! free!) their debut EP Ooh Mommy? Or at least heard that the Phoenix picked ‘Baby You’re a Starfish’ as MP3 of the week?

If not, it’s okay; you can remedy all this tonight at the Ooh Mommy release show! A long time coming, this is an event that was supposed to happen back in ’09… luckily cassette is a pretty durable format and your copy is waiting for you at PA’s tonight.

Thick Shakes
Hands and Knees

Sheesh. Plus, if you play your cards right, you can leave this show with three newly minted cassettes. Your dad will be all “AHAHAHA WHAT?” like mine was.

You can also acquire one of these amazing fliers:

In conclusion, I love Boston.

let’s pretend today’s a friday

Just look at this show. You have to go. “It’s snowing!”? I don’t care, it’s just a bit of water..

Grooms (NYC)
Young Adults
Earthquake Party!

18+, $9, and apparently this is starting right at 9.
Don’t try to act all cool and ‘whatever’ by showing up late, you will miss things!!

PS I have more to say about all these bands but that will have to wait til tomorrow, I have snow to shovel.

oh, happy valentine’s?

Hey, reader, I like you.

If I could, I would wine and dine each and every one of you. But, let’s be real, you just want to be friends. That’s cool, I still want to make sure your Valentine’s Day is better than most.

Thing is, I just don’t know how to push your buttons, so I’m going to leave the decision making up to you.

Maybe you’re in the mood for the kind of ‘rock’ that makes you think you’re an excellent dancer? Leave your beer on the bar and forget your name kind of fun? If so, you should go to Church. A bunch of scousers are making the trip from the UK (The Arkanes, they are on the NME’s radar, apparently) to party with The New Frustrations and Forest Henderson.

If punk rock is more your poison, be here:

Here are some links (Dear Scamps, I would like you to have a MySpace/muxtape/thing)
The Maine Coons

Dr Bin Laden
The Tired Times
Four Eyes

That’s all I got; please, don’t you dare wallow. You’re too pretty for that.

i’m tryin to learn bass

and guitar at the same time. If I get kinda good at one of these things, funny things’ll happen.

That’s my excuse for why you haven’t seen many posts from us in the last week. I spend my days off googling songs I think I might be able to play and then trying to pwn em, over and over.

Anyways, tonight’s looking pretty great so I thought I’d take a break (my fingers hurt) and tell you about it.
