nobody puts baby in the corner

Sorry, I had to.

I’ve figured out what you’re doing Saturday night. Excited?

You see, (and you know you trust my judgement) The Big Big Bucks are among my favorite Boston bands to see live. I’ll never forget my first time seeing them – it was in a basement on Allston Street, two summers ago at my SECOND EVER basement show. Time has certainly flown by but one thing hasn’t changed – these kids rule.

I can’t stop listening to The Lemonheads

December 10, 2009 § Leave a comment

It’s driving me CRAZY!
Right now I’m listening to Hate Your Friends … in approximately 15 minutes I’ll put It’s a Shame About Ray on.

Did you know that Evan Dando is going to be playing Great Scott? It’s in February, which I realize is a long time from now, but I’m pretty excited. Were you there that time at the Paradise? When they played It’s a Shame About Ray from start to finish, and then played “Different Drum” and THEN the dude from Urge Overkill came on with sunglasses and a cowboy hat and they covered “Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon” … that was the best.

But whoa do I digress. I just figured I’d write a little ditty about what local stuff I’ve been listening to lately (and The Lemonheads certainly do count. I like listening to “Drug Buddy” and imagining Dando and his friend wandering around Lower Allston).

Vinyl vs. Digital

December 10, 2009 § Leave a comment

You know when you drink two cups of coffee at once and all of a sudden your head feels funny and your ears are sensitive and you want to do a trillion things at once? I call this coffee drunk and this is why I’m currently writing three Pilgrims posts at once while working on my Farmville farm and talking to Cat and Brian in the other room.

So, this is the post where I talk about things that have been released to the world in the last week. I can only think of two.

You know Kill Conrad? They just ‘released’ their digital EP, Let’s All Go To The Lobby!

Download here if you like punk/rock/hardcorepunkrock:

Then, there’s Vinyl Vlog ( I love Vinyl Vlog, it makes me laugh (and I learn things. I like the combo). Just this week they posted their newest episode (Season 2 Episode 2!), and you ought to take a look. Go to for an interview with Vinnie from Less than Jake. But WHERE IS KEN?

Where Am I?
